It's supposed to be film-noir-esque, and I thought the acting fit that perfectly.

Damn that's crazy! Still have some reservations, but I'm glad that at least the comic's visual style's kept intact. Either way I'm seeing it.
The special makeup came as a suprise, I couldn't picture Nick Stahl as the Yellow Bastard until now, yikes. Same with Mickey/Marv.
